Aaron Walker SWAT-ted

Aaron Walker, one of the bloggers targeted by Brett Kimberlin, is the latest victim of SWAT-ting. Walker, who goes by Aaron Worthing online, tweeted the news of this extreme form of harassment being used on his family shortly after news broke that the peace order against him had been modified, restoring his First Amendment rights. Thankfully, though, Aaron reports that he and his wife are safe.

My wife and I are safe. Will be more details when I can provide it. Wife was very upset dealing with her.

We're going to get food delivered and relax for a bit. I will tell my story soon, but I need to attend to my lovely wife first.

— Aaron Worthing (@AaronWorthing) June 26, 2012

So don't expect me to say something on my blog before 10 eastern.

— Aaron Worthing (@AaronWorthing) June 26, 2012

But I will say this. If anyone thinks this will stop me from telling the truth about #BrettKimberlin they have another thing coming.

— Aaron Worthing (@AaronWorthing) June 26, 2012

What happened tonight was a sign of desperation to silence me about #BrettKimberlin, that much is obvious. And it won't work.

— Aaron Worthing (@AaronWorthing) June 26, 2012

Also frankly I think I got something like 300 tweets, emails, etc tonight. It'll take me a while to work through them all.

— Aaron Worthing (@AaronWorthing) June 26, 2012

But I appreciate each and every person who wishes us well and have shared your prayers.

— Aaron Worthing (@AaronWorthing) June 26, 2012

And pls no one respond in kind. No vigilante violence or threats to do the same. We are better than them. we obey the law. #BrettKimberlin

Update: Patterico, who was SWAT-ted himself last year, has details.

Details on Aaron Walker SWATting. http://t.co/pmXEK2Mu

— Patterico (@Patterico) June 26, 2012

No joke. It happened around 6 p.m. Eastern. I briefly talked with one of the police officers at the scene, who confirmed that someone had called saying he had shot his wife, and sent officers to Aaron’s address.

Update: Aaron Walker gives his first hand account.

New Post: "What Happened Tonight" Yep, about the SWATting the truth the SWATter doesn't want me to tell. http://t.co/hzL4Gihz

— Aaron Worthing (@AaronWorthing) June 26, 2012

I was SWATted tonight.  My wife was down in the basement, and unknown to me she had fallen asleep in an uncomfortable position while watching TV.  I was just finishing up a post where I was going to share Kimberlin’s nutty response to my motion for a partial stay when someone decided to recklessly endanger my life.

Update: Twitter is rightfully outraged.

Just got off the phone with @AaronWorthing. He and the wife are safe. I'm ticked to see this same tactic being used. #BrettKimberlin

So, @AaronWorthing was just SWAT'd after winning in court today. Liberals: Silencing by any means necessary…even murder.

— Melissa Clouthier (@MelissaTweets) June 25, 2012

This SWAT-ting stuff infuriates me. Wish there was a more tangible way we non-bloggers could help push back. It's an attack on us all. #tcot

— Will Antonin (@Will_Antonin) June 25, 2012

So Aaron Worthing gets emergency stay, then he gets SWAT'ed. Only a moron would think that's coincidence! @AaronWorthing #BrettKimberlin

The person or people behind this swatting crime…need to go to jail.

— Kathleen (@katnandu) June 25, 2012

isn't SWATting attempted murder? assault with a deadly weapon? not to mention terrorism. where is the FBI? @leginsurrection

— Prudence Paine (@PruPaine) June 25, 2012

Call SWATting what it is: attempted contract murder. #BrettKimberlin @AaronWorthing

— Alo Konsen (@OhioCoastie) June 25, 2012

@AaronWorthing has been SWAT'ed tonight. Someone isn't taking their loss in court very well. Stay safe, Aaron. #DefendTheFirstAmendment

re: SWATting: Anyone who imperils my child will be hunted down like an animal. And I'm a pretty good hunter.
