If you’ve never been a desperately broke 20-something, then you’ve never really lived: It is in the lowest moments that our true strength and creativity emerges.
It’s no walk in the park, but at least you’ll know that yes, you can survive for a week with a negative bank account balance and an empty refrigerator without resorting to prostitution or organized crime to keep you afloat.
The Vulgar Chef knows the struggle. The self-described “broke as f*ck” food blogger doesn’t actually make any money off his blogging. In honor of his penniless efforts (or perhaps because of them), he created a poor-man’s lasagna to feed his starving soul.
Instead of using traditional lasagna noodles, this dish is made by layering tomato sauce, ricotta cheese, and — wait for it — ramen noodles, simultaneously making it the strangest and most amazing psuedo-Italian food creation in history.
If you’re as intrigued as you ought to be, you can find the recipe for the Struggle Is Real Lasagna (the dish’s official name) here.
